Let's encrypt stop renew certificate

nothing changed in configuration but suddenly the letsencrypt certificates dont renew.

I found in Log file:

raise errors.AccountNotFound(f"Account at {account_dir_path} does not exist")
certbot.errors.AccountNotFound: Account at /var/cache/bunkerweb/letsencrypt/etc/accounts/acme-v01.api.letsencrypt.org/directory/461a7688a3780cbda567e0e23c0ab022 does not exist

2026-06-29 19:16:21,490:ERROR:certbot._internal.renewal:All renewals failed. The following certificates could not be renewed:
2026-06-29 19:16:21,495:ERROR:certbot._internal.renewal: /var/cache/bunkerweb/letsencrypt/etc/live/bw.mdcsystems.de/fullchain.pem (failure)
  /var/cache/bunkerweb/letsencrypt/etc/live/xxx/fullchain.pem (failure)

but I have a folder: acme-v02.api.letsencrypt.org

thank you for help

Hi @deutschem,

We are aware of this bug and it will be fixed in the next stable version that should be released any day now!

While you wait the solution is to connect to the web interface → Access the Letsencrypt extra page → Select the faulty certificate → Delete it so it gets automatically recreated correctly

Regards,

Théophile

Hi,

thank you for that info.

I doen this now. the certs are recreated. But the CN is now www.example.org and the dates (browser info) are wrong too, in bunerweb ui the dates are correct

so no luck

regards

Markus

Hi,

so, upgradet to .12:

letsencrypt do not renew, even if I delete the “old” certs.

New: If I delete the “old” certs no new cert will becreated (waiting for 2 hours)

ok, so I think I get no community support ?

Upgrade to 1.6.13 → no lets encrypt renew.

2026-07-16 19:19:48,383:ERROR:certbot._internal.log:0 renew failure(s), 4 parse failure(s)

I am shure I cannot do anything anymore. ok, so that support behaviour is nothing for me and my business. So, very welcome: FortiWAF.
